Love using Greentoe. I purchased a couple of things from them and have always seemed to save at least 10-15% off of retail. Recently got my Think Tank Airport Takeoff from them for $250 from Unique Photo and last week I purchased a Think Tank Retrospective for $115 also fulfilled by Unique Photo.

I bought mine right after you, and it was your post that made me put in $250 as well. I would have put in 300 or so, thinking they won't go lower until I saw what you got it for, so thanks :)! Unique Photo accepted my order after a few hours.

how much did you end up paying, if you don't mind me asking?

$1350 + $100 off from current Tamron rebates. Fully authorized dealer, 6 year warranty and all.

My pleasure, glad you were able to save more than you thought you could. :D. Saving money is a very good thing. Of course I usually wind up spending the savings on more gear.

So you are going to end up paying 1250 for that lens?

I've had nothing but a great experience with Greentoe and Andrew. I just made my second purchase, A 6D that after rebate will be $1520. So glad I found this site.

I commented positively on GT before, even though I have yet to make a purchase. GT didn't carry a lens I was looking for several months ago. I sent an e-mail to Andrew, and a few weeks later the lens was there, and is still available today. Unfortunately in the interim the canon sale had lapsed. I think I missed the next sale, but I'm patiently waiting for the next one.

The point is GT (Andrew) actually listens, and works with the customer to get them what they need. I've recommended them to a few folks, and have not heard a valid (unresolved) complaint yet. Do not hesitate to do business with GT. I will, sooner or later.

Regards,
Steve

Yup, nothing but great experiences through greentoe, I think I'm up to 3 purchases, including my most recent one (which now I've just missed out on the POTN rebates :( ) everything has been smooth and the back end support from Adorama has been great too.

Offered $425 for a 600ex and they countered with $490. When I searched this thread others had gotten it for $420 or slightly more. I put in a counter at $450. Let's see how it plays out.

Good luck. Folks need to understand this a fluid process. What might have worked yesterday might not today. Supply/Demand in action. If sales are off the vendor might be willing to sell at a lower margin in order to hit a daily sales number etc.
