Go look at the 1D iii discussion thread. It gets updated regularly. But I have been thinking about getting one as a good general purpose camera with an AF system better than the 40-60D line.

I've just got rid of my 7d to get a 1d Mkiii in the last month and absolutely love it.
Wishing I changed sooner than I have.

Still using mine, and if it vanished today, I'd buy another one tomorrow. This kind of performance for under $1k is ridiculous.

I was going to start a thread asking if it was worth it to sell my 5D Classic and add a little cash to get a 1DMk3, but it seems like I got my answer. I was already a obsessing a bit about getting one, this thread doesn't help.

For the current 1DMk3 owners: anything I should be looking out for when buying a used one? Thanks.

How would that work with crop sensor lenses? I imagine it wouldn't be as bad as the 5DM2 but there would still be dark spots on the corners.

Bought mine a little over a year ago, and I still love it. Worthy upgrade over my MKII.
