Hey guys. Having a dilemma here. I sold my 70D and 18-35ART so I can buy a 6D and finally stepping into full frame. However, Ive been waiting for canon's refurbished sale to be in stock again and its taking a while.
Ebay has been having deals with the kit lens for under $2k and I am wondering, should I get it with the kit lens? I mean... I've heard good reviews about it but its not really the best lens either. But its probably worth the extra $550 and not the $1k retail price for it.
I was going to set aside the money for the 24ART or 85ART when it does come out.
Any thoughts? Should I get the 6D with the kit lens or without the kit lens?
Thanks for your input
I look at it like this. You're either going to sell it for what you pay for it give or take a bit, which is not worth really waiting for. Or you're going to use it. Sounds to me like a f4L zoom is not really something you're excited for. I wouldn't be either. It's not a very good performing lens, considering it's an `L, especially at the wide end. At the normal to telephoto ends, it's a good enough lens. But again, doesn't seem to warrant being an `L really. That said, it does have weather resistance.
Personally I would have next to no use for that lens. I wouldn't wait around for it. And I wouldn't pay more to have it, just to end up not using it, or taking the effort to sell it for what I got it for, or maybe a bit more to someone who wanted to pay $600ish for it, as that's the common going rate for a minty white box one.
