Scorpian on a mouse pad

Found this little guy being used a a play toy for my cat, popped him on the mousepad to take some shots then found a quiet spot in the garden to release him. He is about 10mm across the claws

Very nice shots. Now how the heck would you "plop him on your mousepad" ? I mean how would you handle it and not get stung? Not that I would want to.
