I have been scaling down my gear to pay some other bills off. I'm no pro and never intended to make money with my gear. I just accumulated way too much. I'm trying to get down to two lenses and a decent body. I don't know if I'll be able to keep my 6D or not at this point, but I feel your pain for sure.

Doing the same. I had 3 dslr bodies, more lenses than I would ever use, and a bunch of random things I purchased and haven't touched in a year. I am down to one dslr and a couple lenses that cover what I need for what I shoot.

To the OP, everything you let go of now, you can replace when you're ready. You'll be starting with a clean slate, so you can build your kit exactly how you want it.

Back in the late 90s I lost almost everything 60K + worth of equipment. I was going trough a divorce and the X said I must have taken it out of the house. I didn't. Then it was my word against hers. It's just equipment and it has been changing and folks have been upgrading every few years anyway. It's the work that matters.

Good luck and hope you get to a better place soon.

I'm at that point now. I'm selling several items, in the classifieds, to pay for some major medical bills. **** happens. Life goes on. Will be able to get new stuff in the future.

There's some good stuff in here. Thanks everybody. :)

Ironically, it's my wife that is fighting the hardest for me to keep my gear. She feels that I will regret it. But, once I made the decision I felt better. Kind of a relief, actually.
