Wow! Great to see this thread still going so strong. Seems a long time ago since I owned the Zeiss. I just hired a Sigma 50mm 1.4 ART for three weeks and it's the closest to the Zeiss I've tried. If you want an AF lens with many of the same razor sharp, flawless colour rendition and super micro-contrast qualities then well worth checking out. Is quite a bit cheaper but great build and seems so far to be super reliable AF wise.
