Well Christmas came in July for me yesterday as I took delivery of a 1DX. Time to take everything to the next level! Here are some of the first shots with it, pretty much out of the box, with only some minor tweaking to microfocus adjustment with my EF300f2.8L on it. Must say I like the color aspects of images from it as well as more shadow detail that seems present. Think I will like this! C&C appreciated. And if there are any who care to share their killer AF settings, please let me know!

Nice shots. The 1Dx has come up a couple of times recently on eBay for $4,999 and it has been awfully tempting to upgrade from the Mk IV to gain higher ISO performance.

If you can get a new one for $4999, then beg, borrow or steal to get the cash to get it!! I did a lease to own program with a retailer here in Canada. More pricey in long run but easier to deal with on a monthly cash flow basis!

Congratulations on the 1DX. It is an amazing piece of equipment and in your hands it is going to create some great images. Your first outing looks great. Now you can start saving for a 400 which is the worst part of the deal.

Congrats on the new body! I normally use case 2 for baseball and case 4 for football. Sometimes I use case 4 when shooting the pitcher head on because I believe the acceleration is faster and will adjust for the sudden change in distance during his stride.

I'm still learning how to maximize all the af settings myself

Cool, I follow the Corvallis Knights. Crazy game today against the Harbourcats.
