I scored a EOS M with 18-55, 90EX, a card and two Canon cells for $290 Canadian last week, so good deals are available if you keep looking.

Maxdave

Great deal - where was that? I picked mine up at Amazon.ca for $349 back in early June and that was the best CDN deal at the time.

Hello Maverick, new EOS M owner here, plan to jump into ML with it, but as it has 2.0.2 firmware, is there anything i have to careful of when I take the dive?

Maxdave

it's pretty straight forwards, just follow my mini tutorial.

http://www.google.com …g2=3ZT5RcyFH8E3R_9Cxwc6uA (external link)

I included all you need in there, finding the files was honestly the hardest part. For 2.0.2 firmware they were all over the place. I looked for all of them and put them in a convenient zip folder to make it easy for others.

Been running it for 8 months no issues yet, focus peaking and audio levels saved me from having to buy an external $350 monitor just to get those features. Which are a must for any serious video IMO.

Love the bokeh in those - is it all from the lens, or have you enhanced it?

Nice blue hour shot, Ken. I miss the New England coastline. I have a similar film shot from World's End in Hingham, MA from nearly 30 year ago.

Great pano from Hawaii, David. Nicely done.

shot in raw, then converted to jpg, using DPP as i always does. no color alteration or enhancement. the hardest part is manual focus - handheld and 10x enlarge to achieve critical focus. I have about 30% hit rate.

Thanks,

buy one and try it and you will know. this lens is very cheap, I got a good copy for $17 + $10 shipping from ebay. usually the price is between 10 to 20$.

If you dont like it after you try it, you will not loss much.:)

PS: forgot to mention you do need another $10 ish to get the MD-EOSM adapter.

Very good job indeed!

Did you use auto exposure bracketing?

So here is a question for everyone running the EF adapter.... do you find yourself using it a lot over the native lenses? I love the 22mm and wanted the EF adapter for my other lenses. I am going to play with it today but do you find that the new gen EF lenses are faster (auto focus, target acquisition, etc.) than the older? I want something more wide angle than the 22m and was looking at the 10mm or 12mm Rokinon/Samyang but then saw someone suggest the new Canon 10-18mm with the adapter.

Looking for thoughts/opinions.

Gear: EOS-M w/ 18-55mm & 22mm f/2 (EF-M to EF adapter), DEAD-Canon EOS 20D w/ Phottix Grip, Canon 50mm f/1.8 mkII, Tamron SP AF 24-135mm MACRO f/3.5-5.6, Tokina 19-35mm f/3.5-5.6 SOLD, Canon 55-250mm MK I IS,

I have heard the native 11-22 is a better option size-wise than the adapter coupled with the 10-18 - although the 10-18 can obviously can be used on EF-S mount cameras.
