My son and I went fishing in West Branch Creek in Pennsylvania. I was fishing but when the fog started to rise I just couldn't resist grabbing my camera and snapping a few shots.
I'd love to hear your thoughts on these photos.

Thanks

I like the 2nd and 4th in particular. The fog adds a mood and the colors are fantastic.

My dad and I are headed out to do some fly fishing in the Sierras early next week. Your post just sent my eager anticipation in to overload.

Have a wheelie nice day!

I was really expecting something boring going by the title (I don't fish).
These are great tho! The atmosphere, the fog, the tone.. :) All really well done.. :)
Only critique would be in the second photo there's some sort of zipline in the background? Would look at cloning that out.. :/

Thanks TMZ and Swjim, I don't have Photoshop and I just got Lightroom a month or so ago, I know you can remove blemishes on portraits but can I remove the zip line with Lightroom?

I think all but #3 are wonderful shots. Trees in #3 a little distracting IMO.

Thanks Chuck, I was hoping the tree would kinda frame him a little, but I agree it is my least favorite.

I like the images generally, but there's just something I need to add. There's a disconnect between how you see the images and what the images are conveying. You think that "fly fishing with my son" is an accurate description, but I don't see that anywhere in the images. The family relationship gets completely lost, and I just end up seeing someone fly fishing alone. That doesn't make the images bad, but it does make them completely different than what you're saying they're about. And I think you should be aware of that.

Gene - Thanks I understand what your saying, I wasn't naming the set of photos, I was naming the thread, I guess I used this name so viewers would know it isn't a self portrait, but at the same time was aware it was a photo of a loved one and not just a stranger or friend.
What would you have recommended for a title? Or other than having both of us in the photo what would the best way to convey the father son relationship?

I agree. Nice images, though I'd reduce the saturation a little.

Nice set - nothing like catching a fish in the fog. #4 for me.
