They don't look sharp at all. They are so out of focus I can't see them at all.

There is a point that is in focus. The second one looks okay on his eyes, but the first one looks as if only the hair on the back of his head is in focus. Because they were shot at 2.8, you have a shallow depth of field.

Overall the second one is fine, but I think it can be improved by adjusting the white balance, it seems to be a bit off. I would also crop a bit of the space out to the right of his head.

They all seem to be sharp, just not on the eyes. That could be down to the lens, the camera ... or the photographer failing to focus correctly.

Without knowing more about how you focus, which mode, which point(s), if you use focus recompose etc., it is impossible to say if the gear is faulty or you aren't using good focusing technique.

If it is a gear problem then it probably just needs the lens calibrating to that camera, and you should be able to do that with the MFA.
