Now I have no clue as to what these fruits are, unless they are some sort of Palm fruit in ripe form.

No mater what, seems all the Zeiss images are DELICIOUS!;)

I had no clue what it was either, but it was hanging off of a palm tree and when I asked around everyone said that it's palm fruit.

Nice image David, love using this lens wide open. need to pick up a 3-4 stop ND filter so I can use it on my next trip.

Thanks! Having a 3-stop filter for the Otus has been really nice for wide-open shooting in the bright sun. :)

Thank you very much, David and t60p! At the beginning I wanted to wait for the new Otus 85, actually we will have some news on September during photokina about, but at the end I preferred the 55mm considering the performance and your thoughts about it.

I am eager to put it in the camera and take pictures with it :)

Hi everybody,

first I want to say thanks for all the effort your put in here to give others a fantastic impression of this lense.

Because of that I decided to buy one as well. The only decision I have to make is what kind of mount I take (Canon or Nikon).

I want to use the lense on my 5D mark 3 and I have two options:

1. Go with the canon mount with all the benefits (fokus confirmation etc.) but no chance to use the lense on a Nikon camera if I ever want to change.( I see the lense as a long time investement)

2. Go with the nikon mount and an adapter and the downsides of no fokus confirmation.

I would be fantastic If your could help me with the experience your gathert by using the lense.

Specally manual fokusing without fokus confirmation at 1.4 - 2.8.

Thanks.
