Used Canon 24-70L 2.8 (verson 1), new Tamron 24-70 2.8 VC, or keep Tamron 28-75 2.8?

Same shots. Extreme upper left corner. First is Tamron 28-75 at f/2.8. Second is 35 IS at f/2. I still think the Tamron holds its own. Remember, this is a wide-open extreme corner. I would not pay $1,000 for the difference between these shots.

since you don't need IS, i would go for the canon v1, because of better build and faster focusing

I am very disappointed in my version 1 24-70 2.8. My 17-55 kit lens is sharper than the 24-70. I tried micro adjustments and nothing changes. Shot a wedding Saturday and eventually put the 24-70 back in the back and finished with the 17-55. Version 2 costs way to much money so I'm basically stuck. Can't afford to send it back to Canon to be adjusted ;(
