I was wanting to visit this pretty little waterfall in the Sierra Nevada for a while now. Figured why not take a Milky Way shot while I was there! Felt like a magical place at night.

REALLY love the idea, I've been searching for a suitable set of falls around here to do this..but all the good falls are in the middle of the woods with barely any sky visibility. Your sky looks great, but the foreground looks really soft. Was this one frame or did you layer multiple exposures

Thanks guys, much appreciated! :)

@proper_propagana, I had the 30 sec and also a 1 min and 2 min exposures of the foreground. Ended up using the 2 min since it looked the most interesting, but probably explains the soft look you're seeing

Did you refocus for your foreground exposure? It just looks out of focus. Everything else is really on point here, but your foreground could be much better.

I agree. Also the sky may be a little too purple for my taste.
But the idea is great, the location is really beautiful. It's still a really nice picture.

Very nice!! I actually love all of your milky way images in your 500px!

I like purple ish color of sky for my taste. don't know how other people think about how real night sky should look like tho. Maybe working on milky way itself a bit more to find it real color may make this picture wonderful! (I think milky way has bit of brownish..? colors and overall the color tone is shifted toward blue/purple tone) But I still like the clarity and composition of your shot : )
