I'm still experimenting, trying to get the hang of it, see what works, what not. Last night I tried a curtain of light and back lighting another pair of shoes in the process. Looks kinda cool I think.

The blue shoes came out looking good, too. I suspect that most people haven't done light painting or even looked into it and won't be able to say anything from experience about technique.

Yeah, it's a bit of a pity, but on the other hand, it's also a lot of fun experimenting, finding out things through trial and error and to be surprised by some of the results! Thanks for being so kind to leave a few words, OhLook. Appreciate that.

Wow, Levina! With the old POTN I would have never seen these shots. The last shot is stunning!

Hi Stina! Thank you so much!

Yes, the galleries are Pekka's idea to give images more attention, make them more visible. And lo and behold it works!!

EDIT: I have been so busy running from thread to thread to answer questions that I've not had time for anything else. I did see people adding tons of images to their gallery which is so great, but I've not had time to look at any of it! It's just crazy busy! :)

Levina, did you know that your images in this thread are replaced by "redirect or missing"?

Thanks, Chet! I was playing around there for a bit with light painting and a few turned out quite nice I thought. :)

Odd that the image is missing in the quote.
Oh, wait, I have an idea. Will test this.

I can see them all, except the one in the quote in Chet's post. But I have an idea as to why that is.
Can you not see the images in the original posts?

I have to go out for an hour or so. Appointment and have to run!

Really? How odd. I can see all of them. And clearly Chet could see them too. Hmmm... I'll try quoting my OP.

Hello everybody. I'm experimenting with light painting and tried it out on a pair of shoes of mine last night. I thought I would share them here and hopefully get some pointers? I also wonder what flashlights I could buy for this as I made these with a no-battery flashlight, you know, the kind that requires you to spin a handle until you're blue in the face... :D

This is a single shot and my favourite of the day (or night really)

This is a stack of three (one for the front, one for the side of the left shoe and one for the heel of the right shoe)

In Preview I can see the thumbnails and all seems well. Submitting now.

Yep, thumbnails are there and all is as it should be.
What do you see, gonzo?

EDIT: now this is really odd. After I submitted this post the thumbnails are gone and all I see is "missing image" etc. This makes no sense...

I noticed that too. They show in the preview, but not in post.

I can't see them in the originals or thumbnails.
