We took a whale watching excursion on our trip to Alaska and saw several humpback whales. These were taken with a 6D and 400 5.6 lens. Comments and critiques welcome.

We love whale watching out of Juneau in the Lynn Canal :) Never disappointed. Nice shots but better that you went & saw this in person :)

Life is hard...but I just take it one photograph at a time.

Very nice -- I love the first shot. Catching them out of the water is always a special treat.

We did a similar trip out of Juneau in mid-July, and witnessed some exciting bubble feeding action (a first for us after about a dozen excursions). I posted a thread a couple of weeks ago with photos.

Thanks everyone. This was my first time whale watching and it was a great experience.

Nice shots John, I like them both. Do you have any more to share.
I went on a whale watching trip myself a couple of weeks ago and was fortunate enough
to see a humpback breaching for more than an hour it was an amazing experience.
Cheers Stuart.

Thanks Scrub and Lester. I do have some more shots but they are pretty similar to what I've posted.
