I was out in Yellowstone and the Tetons for our Honeymoon in late May, and WOW, I never have seen so many bears out there, we saw 19 total, and 10 of those were in one day!

This grizz I spotted when he was swimming across the Lamar River which was rushing VERY fast, and he was struggling to get across!

You got really lucky. I've been to YS only twice and spotted one bear each time... and that's it.
