I took these photos while on the Natural History Tour in Denali National Park. This nice caribou cooperated by crossing the stream in an open area and running toward me.

Great capture of the caribou in motion, John! You were luckier than us during our Denali visit this summer -- we only saw a couple of caribou, grazing at a greater distance. We took the longer Tundra Wilderness Tour, which went much deeper into the park with access to more scenery than the Natural History Tour (which we did 15 years ago).

We wanted to do the Tundra Wilderness Tour but we couldn't do it and get back to lodge in time for our next bus. I was very disappointed at first but I guess it worked out okay!

Doesn't look like my Denali (GMC) but still looks full of horse power, correction Caribou Power.
Very nice images.

We had the same issue during our first visit 15 years ago. We made sure on this visit that we would have more time in Denali. It's one of those things where previous experience really helps.

As it turned out, the Tundra tour didn't result in any more wildlife sightings -- although we did travel through a lot more wildlife habitat. It did, however, provide a lot more terrific landscape views.
