just got my 6d body and Tamron 24-70 delivered today after my first purchase with Greentoe. Great experience overall. Andrew was great to work with and super responsive.

Can't wait to start shooting.

Wish I knew about this site a week ago. I just purchesed a Tamron 24-70 full price from B&H.

I could try and find a better deal through Greentoe and ship back to B&H I guess. Any suggestions?

That's exactly what I did. I purchased both from on of the main dealers and then heard about Greentoe on here.

I saved about $200 on the combo going through Greentoe over the street price on Canonpricewatch.

Which one does this apply to? Canon's instant rebate or mail-in rebate, or both?

And how does it work, since Greentoe is a reverse auction site?

For example, the Canon T5i body only has nominally a $100 rebate. If I set a $500 price on Greentoe (which is not a totally unreasonable price), and some retailer "bites", does Greentoe then send me a $100 check? That would be sweet to get it at $400.

I am not sure on the instant rebate but on the mail in one you send in the canon one and then greentoe mails you that same amount without filing any paperwork at all in 4-6 weeks

I'm getting pretty disillusioned with Greentoe. The last 3 offers that I made were simply allowed to lapse without getting any sort of a counter-offer e-mail, and prior to that, the two counter-offers I got were prices that were not competitive with other prices for the same items that could be bought new. As a result of not getting any competitive price offers on new gear, I ended up buying a used OM-D E-M1 and a used Rokinon 7.5mm fisheye. I really would have bought these same items new, if the prices I had gotten for these through Greentoe had even been slightly lower than the best widely published prices on these 2 items that I was already aware of prior to submitting my offers.

Just wanted to post for others and say I had a great experience using Greentoe.
I took advantage of the doubledip promo they were running last week and got the 70-200 2.8 II for an awesome price (<$1900) after rebates. Shipped quickly from very reputable dealer.
Will definitely look to use them again in the future (distant future after purchasing 70-200 II and 6D kit recently, need to save up $$).

I just concluded a deal with Greentoe. Andrew, at Greentoe, was simply great in helping me acquire what I needed at a price I could accept. Don't have the product (5D MIII) yet, but the seller they arranged contacted me to confirm shipping, and is indeed an authorized reseller (per Canon's published list). Will update this once product is received - and again when a rebate is received. Bottom line: I'd do business with them again.

Price finalized morning of 19 August, product received today - 22 August. Much happiness for me!
