LG 34UM95-P 21:9 UltraWide

I wanted to give y'all a 4 week update on the monitor. Well after using the monitor on projects it has exhibited some very minor bleeding on both lower corners. They basically ran a third of the way up, on the edge at about 1/32-1/16" out. In fact you can barely see the bleed unless you do the bleed test video on youtube.

Overall I would say these are within acceptable limits. My monitor was made on June thus possibly LG fixed the bleeding issues from the April/May production.

As far as calibration it is holding strong. Images stay constant and true as images absolutely pops on the screen and you can see the changes at every minor adjust on LR5.

Thanks for the update.

This reinforces the feeling I have that the whole series has this issue, without exception.
Some more, some less, but you can't get one without any bleeding at all.

I was reconsidering getting it again after I heard there is a new manufacturing series out, but apparently it has the same issues. And for a 1000$ monitor... I don't know
I want it over having to use 2 screens, but afraid to play the RMA games.

I also have the same bleed on lower corner edges, but hard to notice on day to day usage. Overall so far I am very pleased with this monitor. The only issue I ran into was, the LG calibration software wont run with triple monitor setup. It works fine with dual monitors though. (It will only calibrate your LG monitor)

Yes. I only calibrated my LG since it is my primary editing monitor though the backup 1080P has been calibrated already.

LG produces very good screens. Since 2006 I use a LG 37inch Full HD screen with good definition and pretty good (printed) matching colors. (Don't wanna start a calibration discusion).
Last month I switched the (perfectly working LG) with a new Samsung 40inch UHD version.
I have two pc's mounted on the screen and only one needed a stronger screen card (now a Geforce GTX660/2Gb in stead of the Geforce GTX260/1Gb) and both pc's are now working on a steady screen.
I had to switch the tv setting from "Normal" to "Natural" and now the images are crisp and clear (and wonderfully match the printed color versions).
Details are phenominal and on whole the upgrade is phenominal. I recomend it highly. All in one screen, no hassel with multiple screens.
Due to the HDMI-pipeline the refresh rate is limited to 30Hz. No problem for photo's and related programs. Even movies run smoothly, but gaming should be a different story (I wouldn't know ). In time HDMI-2 should provide 60Hz (especially for 4K gamers).

There are a few big manufacturers of panels. LG, sharp and samsung, jdi.
LG produce panels to dell, acer, aoc, eizo, sony, to some of apple products, so they have a very good record of great panels in both home and business departments

This Monitor caught my eye, the other 21:9 versions didn't really interest me but with the higher resolution that this monitor carries I could see it being really nice with lightroom/photoshop applications since you have the wide panel to deal with your palettes and you have a regular 16:9 27inch screen available for the actual photo. I Think this would be great to have a 21:9 flanked by a 27inch 16:9, unlimited screen real estate...

Anyone driving this monitor with a Mid-2012 15-inch MBP (NVIDIA GeForce GT 650M 1024 MB graphics)? I'm thinking of picking it up to replace my Apple Thunderbolt Display and I'd like to make sure I can get full resolution.

Based on the specs looks like it should work fine but I'd recommened you connecting it either Thunderbolt or Display Port.

"Display Support:
3840 x 2160 = Maximum Digital Resolution
Up to 2048x1536 = Maximum VGA Resolution"

I had planned on using the TB port to connect it to my MBP. Apple lists that the maximum supported resolution is 2560x1600, but I wonder if this is true or rather a "convenient" max spec since Apple doesn't offer a screen with higher resolution. I'll see if my local Micro Center has the LG on display to try out.

BTW, do you still like it?

Absolutely Love it.

I went to my local Micro Center and they had the LG screen on display. It's a really nice screen but I already have a 27" TB display and I am not sure I want to make the switch. I loved the extra width of the LG compared to my TB display, but I really wished for extra height as well.

BTW, I have a Mid-2012 15” MacBook Pro (2.7 GHz Intel Core i7, 8GB RAM, NVIDIA GeForce GT 650M 1024 MB graphics) and Apple lists the maximum supported resolution at 2560x1600. However, it drove both the MacBook and the LG screens at full resolution in case anyone is wondering.

Ive been kicking around replacing my Dell U3011 30" with one of these. A lot cheaper than my U3011 was and looks pretty cool. Not sure it would actually be an "upgrade" though.

Its really a "do you really need it" kind of an upgrade.
The U3011 is an amazing monitor. Great colours and very good resolution and size.
Do you need wider area? Because if you work in adobeRGB, you will lose it, and the difference is very high. I have the U2713H and comparing it to the LG a friend of mine has, even after calibration, the colours of the dell or just superior.

Very good points. And no, I def do not need it and love my U3011 still. It was more of a "oooh thats new and shiny, maybe I want that" sort of thing. Think I will be sticking with my U3011 though. Is it wrong that I kinda wish I had and could use both though?!
