I don't see a good photo here. My eyes don't know where to look!

I agree, there are too many disembodied arms and hands distracting the attention away from where it should be, and the chap at the bottom also takes the eye away. I would crop in tighter to include the top three heads and minimal border around them. That would remove all the competing elements from the lower part of the image, as well as that white patch in the upper right, which also distracts the eye.

As a journalistic image it is great, captures a potentially newsworthy event well, but (for me) it isn't a well composed image as it stands. The fact that the distracting features happen to line up with the golden ratio, doesn't stop them being distracting features unfortunately.

HA! I thought it was just me.

Because a picture gets put into a frame doesn't necessarily make it good. I don't see any thought with regard to composition either. This looks like a wrestling match in a court room shot by a witness.

You guys are a riot. Remove the modern garb and replace the top guy with a pare shaped naked women so favored by antiquity and this could hang proudly in a snotty french art gallery or museum. This was posted tongue in cheek, but I am surprised by the resulting bloviation.

It's an image from a brawl in the Ukrainian parliament in April this year.

The mods will probably be jumping on this in a bit since technically, you're not supposed to upload photos that aren't yours. :P

Since this isn't your image, IMAGE POSTING RULES only allow you to post a link to them.

Just because social media sites don't discourage use of stolen images, it doesn't mean such breaches of a photographers copyright will be allowed on here. This is a site populated by serious photographers, a large proportion of whom have issues with people stealing their images to post them elsewhere.

You are a fairly well established member, you must have seen hundreds of posts on here, from people complaining about their images being stolen in this manner. Why is it so surprising that a site for photographers has rules about respecting other photographers copyright?

Sure, the world as it is includes a lot of people using images illegally. That doesn't mean we have to allow it on here.

I understand as a photography community that 'we' want to respect everyone's copyright. I have no problem playing by the rules, but I've never understood how/why embedding an image constitues stealing it. The only difference between embedding an image and linking one is the use of IMG tags... yet one is acceptable here, and the other isn't.
