Juanita Bay, Lake Sammamish park, Seward Park, Canyon Park, Nisqually wildlife refuge ( I go here 3 times a year ) Gene Coulon Park and from our backyard. My fave is Juanita Bay.

In Renton, there are 3 Osprey nest with in 5 miles from our house and they fish in Gene Coulon Park by Renton Municipal Airport there is a little parking space towards the water. (Seaplane launching area).

I'm super nervous to shoot BIF. I feel like all my shots are going to come out blurry because I'm having a hard time imagining having enough time to track and shoot while remaining steady. Even the IS takes a second to kick in. You shoot tripod/mono for BIF?

I mostly handheld BIF and VC off. Eagles and Osprey are not so bad to track. I first find the subject around 200mm FL and zoomed out to 500/600mm once I acquired target and I keep pressing the (*) back button for AF. I have a gimbal head (Opteka GH1) and use I use it too but I feel more comfortable handholding during BIF.

Got lots of shots there, including breaches; posted a couple Humpback threads yesterday. We got pretty lucky with location, timing, and weather. Having a guide and captain who both knew their stuff was invaluable as well.

Moose, I totally thought those shots were gonna be Peter's. I have done to Whale tours while visiting family in San Diego and the first one we got pushed back early due to rough seas and they gave us a voucher to come back another day.
The second one we did not see any whales, but we saw upwards of 1000 dolphins. They gave us a voucher for 50% off our next trip since we only saw dolphins, but they give you a coupon for another trip if you don't see whales on all the tours I have been on. They typically are timed vouchers so in our case, we ended up giving them to family to use since we only visit 1-2 a year and the vouchers were only good for 60-90 days.
I can't wait to try the next trip with this beast on the end of my 6D.

lol, it's a bit overcooked, but I think it'll print ok. I may do a smaller 8x8 print or something. I kinda like it.
