Absolutely love this shot, simple but with lots to see. Good blending of the sky around the trees too, how long did it take to get such a natural looking edge ? ? ? :)

Loving the T-shirt, is he going to follow his dad ? ? ? :)

Some black & white shots from this week, using my X-E1 and 27mm lens. This lens is growing on me more and more (and it makes my X-E1 only slightly larger than my old X10!)

Thanks! I probably spent 10-15 min in PS at the most. I usually rough it in with the brush at 100% then I'll set it to 20 or 30% and fine tune the transition. Sometimes I'll get more detailed with luminosity masks if I can't get it right. If it's a flat horizon I'll start with the gradient tool in PS then fine tune it with the brush. Funny thing is my PS skills are pretty limited, I've just learned how to do exposure blends and a few other tricks. I follow this blog http://tonykuyper.wordpress.com (external link) and use his action panel. Some of it's still a little over my head:)

Yeah, selling all my Fuji gear. IQ isn't there for me, lightroom handling of raws is bugging me too much

Wow, if the IQ of the pictures you've posted aren't enough for you, I'd love to see the ones that are :D! I thought your sample Fuji pics were some of the best I've seen yet!

Sorry guys I know I'm in the minority with this view but as a serial pixel peeper it's just not doing it for me. It's more than likely a lightroom issue as opposed to a sensor issue but I have used lightroom for too long now to make a change to something different. I just feel the raws are soft compared to the in camera jpegs and you can't sharpen them without them rapidly looking terrible (at 100% zoom). If I use off camera flash it seems to be fine but natural light stuff always ends up a bit mushy. I love the size of the kit and the build quality but it's just really bugging me now so it has to go. Just a bit gutting the money I am losing due to the low resale value of the fuji stuff.

Thanks for the compliment dark knight, appreciated

No problem, good luck with whatever you decide to do, obviously you know what you are doing as a photographer!
