Not for Ansel Adams's landscapes. Large format B&W cameras and negatives have quite different DOF, apertures, and higher dynamic range. Here's a comparison of 35mm film to digital: B&W film will always have more DR then color film (because there's just one emulsion layer). The medium that Ansel used is still pretty great IQ in our age (in both resolution and DR).

I'll be honest guys. I love new tech! I'm looking forward to seeing what Canon offers this year but, it's difficult for me take them seriously when I see releases like a new Rebel and p&s cameras. :)
