I think this one is fairly newly emerged. It was much smaller than the others and its wings were so fresh - beautiful colours were showing but I didnt manage to capture the colours on camera.

Many thanks. They are cute aren't they. My fav hover is Baccha elongata - keeping my eyes peeled for it at the moment so I hope I see at least one this year.

Love the perspective on the first shot and the manner in which the hover is rubbing his front legs. Linda, this is certainly a dainty and lovely looking hover.

Thanks Brian. I bet you do it lol - my next step would be to get the face to face wobble hover but perhaps next year - I know that will be a particularly difficult one to capture
