Very nice capture, I have seen a few of these (or very, very similar) over the last few days and have been unable to get a decent photo of them, more because of their tiny size and of where I have seen them (in bushes) and been unable to get a decent stance to stay stable enough to lock focus, so having tried to get the shot and failed I can appreciate even more the one above, well done mate.

Cheers
Gus

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nikon_D70

You do know that this is Canon forum and this thread is for the Canon 70D ( note the D follows the number in Canon cameras, whereas with Nikon it is in front of the number)

First clarify your Camera/manufacturer then either correct your question or go to the correct forum.

Cheers
Gus

A few people seem to think you are referring to a Nikon camera that was introduced 10 yrs ago back in 2004... but I don't for a second and I will be very pleased to assist you if I can - so please feel free to ask your question on this thread or send me a private message.

regards,
Will

Still seeing quality everywhere folks, love looking through here...

Anyway, on to tonight's subject:

On the stem of one of the garden shrubs.

I placed a blurred background on an A4 sheet of paper behind the cranefly in the first 2 images, and in the last, being so close meant a darkness beyond anyway.

Two tubes for the first two, and all three tubes for the third image:

Not much I can do to save this shot.

It was taken with the 70D and the kit 18-135 STM

1/15, f5.6, ISO 12,800 handheld, pretty much in the dark.

IMAGE: http://davev.smugmug.com/WildLife/2014/i-2D33cxm/0/L/IMG_5618%20traveler-L.jpg

Like I say, this one isn't all that great ... but now I know where he, and his bigger brother hang out. :D

This is the bigger brother when it was darker yet.
