My wife and I went to the summit of Mauna Kea last November to watch the sunset, and for us being Australians, it was bitterly cold up there.
We have never seen snow and were hoping to experience it at the summit. There were snowflakes in the air, but not enough to cover the ground. We are planning to go back back next February, so hopefully the snow will be way more prevalent then.
I did learn though that a 52 year old man like me cant run around chasing the light at that sort of altitude for very long without getting a massive headache.
Still had a ball doing it though….Watching the sunset from a mountain top had a sort of spiritual feel to it.
