A Portuguese! What city is this? Is it close to Lisboa?

A few more photos from my trip to your country with the Pancake ... ideal for a trip to the beach

owain, are your images showing a lot of vignetting or is it just me? what camera body are you using with this lens?

I was playing with the 40mm with a cheapo 4x close up filter (experimenting before deciding if I want to save for a macro lens). It was hand held which of course effected focus, but it worked better than I thought it would. Cropped heavily in Picasa...

From last year's PhotoPlus Expo. I was still using my T4i. I've since upgraded to a 6D.

Wow, that turned out pretty good for hand held. I have the kenko extension tubes, I'm going to try them out.

I've never used extension tubes or close up filters before, so I have no idea how they compare. I found a very inexpensive 4 close up filter set by xit - never heard of them before, either, but I am new at this so maybe they're common? I think for the level I'm at now, the filters are enough to play with. Later I will prob. buy a macro lens, but not for a while. I must have had just the right amount of (and not too much) coffee today, not too shaky, lol. I hope I get to see your posts when you show photos using the extension tubes so I can see what they do!

that's a great shot tommy. I've been using this lens a lot, so much that I've been considering ditching the 50L to free up funds and grab the 16-35F4IS.........

I'm just tired of the weight of the 50L + 135L for daily shooting, so have been using the 40 + 135..... call me crazy and slap some sense into me.

Thank you Charlie. The 40 is fun to shoot with and its an extremely good lens but I would never part with the 50L or 135L. I vote no don't do it. The 50L/135L combo is my personal favorite and they would be the last 2 lenses I ever part with. In fact I could see only owning these 2 and being 90% happy.

probably a good idea, will have to put my GAS on rest, I have almost saved enough for the 16-35, that lens is so incredible, I have to have my own copy (currently borrowing my brother's copy).
