Opinions needed.

Going to be showing friends around NYC Saturday and Sunday. I want to keep my kit as light as possible. What 1 or 2 lenses should I bring with me?

16-35 4L
24-105L
50 Art
135L

I could get away with prolly having 16-35 & 50. Or just plop the 24-105 on there and call it a day.

Thoughts?

-Jalal

Just got back from NYC and although I had more with me, the 24-105 lived on my 7D. I did wish I had a longer FL when we were on the water but other than that I was covered.

So I've been thinking of going to just 16-35L 4 IS, 50L, 135L and 400L. I dream of a 300 2.8 and a 2x but I don't want to spend that much on a lens.

Do it! My sig line shows that I am biased though.
If I could swing a 300 2.8 and 2x, I'd be pretty content.

if you only have 1 body, I'd bring 16-35 - it's tight in NYC, as you know. and 135 in case you get into central park and want to take some portraits.
OR if you don't want both, yes 24-105 and be done with it.

I actually use all of my lenses ( love the 100L ) but the 135 does nice close ups and I have a set of tubes I can use. Just thinking of ways to simplify things. For wide I figure the 16-35 would be a good compromise.

I can do most of my photography with an UW, 50 and 135.

We shall see what I do. Just trying to keep weight down.

I love what I can do with my main kit. Here's the versatility and frame of view difference between them.

I've been thinking of adding a 24-70 II.

Dj. R are you still liking it? I know you change up a lot.

I love it.

I usually go out with my 24-70II and one prime, either short 50L (if it's night or indoor) or 135L (if it's outdoor and daylight).

I only use my 16-35 for real estate.
GREAT kit!
nothing being wasted!

good luck!

If they offer really good rebates around the holidays I may pick one up.
