I can tell you right now my copy of the Tamron 70-200 was MUCH much sharper than yours. Have you microadjusted it? I would not be happy with that performance at all.

On the plant photos, it was at 182mm (mistakenly), but the toy puppy were at 200mm.

I've read online that the Tamron's lens at 200mm does look closer to 180mm
