Where I shoot, I'm at like 16,000 ISO using 1.4-1.8.

Might be a replacement soon? The current 24-105 is anything but new, and has had problems with distortion and CA at the wide end. Correctable, but still a pain if one doesn't have software to correct it. 3.5-5.6 IS STM? http://www.canonrumors.com …nformation-for-photokina/ (external link) OK, that's a rumor, and the link and my reference doesn't exactly belong here -- just trying to answer the question posed. I have a copy of the 24-105 myself and use it often as a walk around. Still one of my favorites - but I am glad I didn't pay full price. Got it as a white-box special with the 5D3 when they were both at good instant rebates a couple years back.

haha! Timing is everything...you'd never get $875 for a 24-105 now.

lol, sold mine last year for $700, thought I was giving it away at that price.... look at me now :p

They've been priced low for a long time now. Selling it three weeks ago was not in a different price era. Of course, you never know, perhaps you got a really high price for it. That happens occasionally...mostly when selling an item on Craigslist and holding out for a high selling price.

Probably because people buy the kits and sell the lenses BNIB from the kits for as low as $650-700.. kind of hard to sustain value close to that used.

$620 new right now. http://www.ebay.com …enses&hash=item2593598c6a (external link).

Edit: Just bought one. I needed a good walk-around lens. Guess I should also post the information.
