It's been very quiet here for a while, guess it's holiday season?

Some great photo's of the cameliens (sp?) sharper than a sharp thing that's just been sharpened by a sharpener!!!!

Dom - the first set of Kristina photo's are superb (as usual) as for the last one 'Doe Eye' . . . really not sure, the eye on it's own is outstanding, as is the mouth on it's own, as for the photo as a whole - I remain undecided.

.DAVID.

Thanks David, I think with the Doe Eye shot it's a case of the brain knows what is missing and fills in the gaps. I am a fan of Edwin Blumfeld's work he did a lot of thought provoking work as well as working for Vogue for many years.

Hi guy's and Girls, long time no speak but I've been a bit busy.....

Have I just been duped or have I gone mad? I'm damn sure that I've just seen one of IES's photo's entered, and as one of the final 12!! for the Countryfile Calender 2015 under the name of David Naylor.

Am I going mad or has Ian's image been stolen?

It's here http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b006t0bv (external link) under the heading "Ruffled Feathers".

Can't believe that it's been so long since I posted a photo here that I can't work out how to do it so that it shows on the post as an image and not just a link.:cry::o

Evening all :)

I also saw Countryfile and must admit that I thought it was one of Mr Bridger's, that man was getting everywhere

Much great postings in the past many days of is weeks...............must get round to PP'ing all too many images ~ it used to be Neil that was accused of waiting months to do the PP'ing and I would not want to take his crown ;)

That was a great meal ~ you must have a good set of pans :p

@ Andy ~ the way point location was great for the view and sight of the aircraft doing the circuit with some of them passing directly overhead at what looked to be a only about 400ft especially the Thumper & Vera...............as noted above still do the PP'ing but I think I got a few keepers of the two of them. Such a pity VERA was grounded this weekend with an engine failure.

Incidently I met the landowner :) And coincidently this afternoon at a Ruby wedding anniversary party someone who is a Cranleigh resident and a trustee who in chatting told me how much of a philanthropist the landowner is ~ top marks to him :D

Is Why The Place an installation by Tim Etchells a neon sculpture on both up and down platforms at Folkestone Harbour Station " suggesting the importance of travellers to Folkestone's past economy ". I've tried to give a sense of coming and going by using a long exposure to get movement of the people moving through the scene.

I'm not sure which of these work best.

@ Dom ~ good interpretation...............for the record I do like such slow shutter work with folk in the frame, though all of mine have been handheld.

I cannot decide but I am leaning towards the last one as the "tag" on the wall is less obvious plus you can see the tracks, making clear it is railway station...........but in the theme of things a pity there is no one walking towards you i.e. "coming & going" in any of them. Oh, IMO works better in B&W rather than sepia toned as I do not think that treatment 'works'.

Thanks Laurance, I did try to get people going both ways but Sod's law normally people always walk in front of the camera when you don't want them to but when you do they avoided it like the plague.

.

Think I prefer this one, the other two just don't look right, to me. :)

Few more from my end.

Taken in 2001 at a place called Fort Myers, they do mosquito control and use these old birds, still operating today too.
