A little bts from one of my recent shoots. Light painted with alienbees b800 and a stripbox.

Nice one Ronaldo!

Curious as to what method you used to give the blue tones? Everything I've tried looks so flat and uninspiring :\

Selective white balance?

Selective white balance?

Gradient maps and some color curves adjustments.

I never really make drastic white balance changes to add color, only to make obvious changes in LR like adjusting the yellow light from the alienbees modeling lamp.

Is there another exposure or 2 that you didn't post? I'm curious how you got the light streaks coming from behind the car.

You're talking about the light rays right? Those were added in post.

Buddy has asked for a few shots of his cars. I am a sports guy though. Any suggestions for parking/lighting a group of 4 cars?

Look a few pages back and someone posted how they lit up 2 cars in a garage for a cover of a magazine.

Excellent thanks, that's where I was going wrong! I was just doing white balance shifts and split-toning and really wasn't happy with it. Now to trawl through my archives and get practicing!

Terrific thread - the setup pictures are incredibly helpful.

Here's my first try using some of the techniques I read here. Keep 'em coming!

Setup: 2x ProFoto B1 500 AirTTL, 1 w/Profoto Zoom (side), 1 w/Profoto Magnum (rear), TTL mode, Canon 5Dmk3, 24-105 lens.
