I hope the distortion won't be as bad as the 24-70. I am not sure if it is just my copy or it's a common problem, but the FE 24-70 I have gives me lovely curve edges. When on the wide side I get curves.

Ill post this picture again for show. notice on the top part the horizontal line it is curved.

24mm

when zoomed out to the longer end, I get concaved curves.

Wow, that is worse than I would have imagined (not owning the FE 24-70). I'm pretty sure distortion does not really vary by copy like de-centering does. Does it clean up nicely with lens correction profiles? That said, your copy seems to have respectable corners at 24mm.

I am so pleased with my EF 16-35 f/4 that I'm contemplating picking up the EF 24-70 f/4, especially with the $500 price drop Canon just announced. I assume it is better than the FE plus it's got the 0.7X macro/magnification feature which is a plus.

The Samyang's problem isn't so much the amount but the moustache. Pretty hard to correct for completely AFAIK. Still like mine though - I'm always careful to ensure that I don't have straight lines in the shot which will highlight the distortion

Anyone recommend any WA lenses? Been looking at the fd 17mm / 20mm 2.8 / and rok 14mm
I know the 16-35 is coming but it's way out of my budget, just want something good for a great price right?!?
Anyways any tips would help! Thanks!

This should be quite correctable with the lens correction features of Lightroom.
The FE 24-70mm does not appear to be as good as Canon's lenses, however all zoom lenses have noticeable distortion.

Crazy sunset tonight. Wish I could have found a lake nearby.
