My daughter with one of her baby goats. Normally I'm not a fan of lens flare, but in this case...I liked it! I was using a lens hood.

I don't like that the sun flare creates this color rainbow that goes over her hair and makes it looks like it's painted. It's also a bit underexposed. Still, I like the photo and I love baby goats. :)

Thank you for taking the time to comment! I normally don't like flare, not sure why I liked it this time. The photo was actually a little over-exposed, I checked the raw file. The dark is a vignette that I added in Lightroom.
Aren't baby goats the greatest entertainment!

Like it, and like the flare. A little too dark on the right side of the image, for my tastes; I'd crop it off and let the picture be all about the light.

Thank you both for the comments.

I took your advice GlimmerMan and cropped the image to an 8x10, and reduced the vignette in one, and tried a white vignette on the other, adding to the dream-like quality. Better or worse?

Cool. Personally, I like the first mod, cropped with mild vignette.
(Those white vignettes never work for me... just not my taste.)

Thank you! I never knew there was a white vignette until recently!

Here the lens flare ruins the photo. It covers up your subject's face!

That's okay that you don't like it, I don't usually like flare, but this streaked flare was kind of interesting. I moved my subject and took a few more flare free shots, but the background was not pretty.
