I was shopping for another Canon 6D + 24-70 2.8 II zoom.

I priced it out on eBay, Greentoe (Andrew is great and very responsive, BTW) and CPW.

CPW came in @ $97 less than Greentoe, and $31 less than eBay grey-market sellers.

The invoice came from a VERY well known store, who is listed on Canon's USA authorized seller list.

So if you are doing some hard shopping because you are ready to buy, don't overlook CPW:

I think if you let Greentoe know about the CPW price, they would have beaten it (or matched it at least) because Andrew@GreenToe is cool like that. :D

Either way, sounds like you've got a great deal. Congrats!

I can also vouch for Canon Price Watch Street Price. I got my new 5D3 from an authorized dealer at a GREAT price. I've already gotten my rebate back from Canon and couldn't be happier.

Greentoe could use a bit more transparency. Andrew has said that they don't have discretion on their prices ("it's all up to the stores") but the above demonstrates that they actually do.

If they were looking out for your interests, why wouldn't they offer you the lowest price possible from the start?

I posted this in the main Greentoe thread: sites like this have to balance the interests of the consumer, the vendors they work with, and also themselves. I had some more things to say but felt like I was taking this thread off-topic. We should probably move this discussion to the GreenToe thread instead.

Getting back on topic though, I fully intend to take advantage of CPW's street price in the very near future here for one of the super telephoto lenses. :D

I did not know that.

I just asked for the lowest price on that combo.

I ordered the 135mm f2 lens for $100 less than the advertised price from CPW today. Can't wait for it to arrive!

935 is the street price. So you're paying $835 only?

I think he meant to say, he ordered the 135mm f/2 lens for $100 less than the Canon minimum advertised price, $939 vs. MAP of $1049.

What you see on the site is what you get, there aren't any hidden discounts. The prices are the lowest we could obtain (we do a lot of shopping around and retailer arm-twisting).

How long do the deals stay active for?

I was eyeing the 6d w/ 24-70 f4 IS combo for $2199 after rebates but wanted to wait until the 7d mkii is announced. The rebates last until Sept 27th so i was hoping i had a little time to jump on the deal.
