Stitched and stacked panorama at 420mm, foreground is stacked separately to reduce noise.

Also 420mm, but a stacked shot only. Foreground was exposed after the Moon was passed the field of view. Interval of the Moon shots was two minutes.

One of my shots this morning after my run. Nothing like trying to handhold a shot of the moon with a 100-400 while your heart is racing.

This was processed with perfect resize. You can tell where their algorithm has issues.

Jannefoo, I really like those stacked shots of yours. You must be living at a very high latitude for the moon to be taking such a flat trajectory. Here at present it sinks almost vertically. (41 S)

During the winter at our base in Antarctica many years ago I set the camera on a tripod and removed the lens cap for a few seconds every twenty minutes, with the camera aimed due south, and ended up with a reasonable moon track dipping then rising without touching the horizon. Sadly I was interrupted at one stage and messed up the timing, but it wasn't too bad an attempt. Not as good as yours though!

Not up to par with the work that you guys have done. But I had a new photographer that I'm mentoring visiting my house last night and he asked me how would I shoot the moon. Its not my sort of shoot but I set the rig to spot metering, 100ISO, 1200 shutter speed, F5.6 (using my 1DX & 24 to 105 F4 L) , auto wb. Oh, and hand held.
