So I captured a Giant house spider... in the house funnily enough. It didn't seem to be doing too well to be honest. Knowing of a rather large Orb Weaver in the garden... I introduced them. The outcome was inevitable. The orb weaver decimated the ailing house spider.

May as well give the Orb a free meal. I released the Orb weaver a bit later after it had finished.

Series of 5 grabs from this. It's surprising how much the Orb weaver moved around paralysing and wrapping its meal. A bit mean I know but the meal probably wouldn't have survived long outside anyway.

They're on a leaflet that came through the door.

Fair point Brian ;).

Silly o'clock in the morning meant I needed more light so indoors was much easier :)

Nice work Ian with good detail. A more naturalistic setting would be better IMHO, good to always declare it as a set-up though.

BTW a much worse fate awaits spiders in my house, if my black cat George finds them all that is left is a few legs. I am always rescuing them.
