Not sure why anyone would want to remember being there. Those places are awful. Thank goodness I didn't have to go back after the third driving test. (yep, took me that many.....and I even had driver training).

Surprisingly, I have a perfect driving record and never break the speed limit.

After the last time I had to stop by one of those places in Georgia I was lucky enough to have a friend who worked there. He waved me to the front of the line without a care for the others waiting. I heard a collective groan from the crowd (seriously), and he pretty much just made me a license. No test or anything.

He's retired now. So, if I get another positive DMV experience after that one, I'll buy a lottery ticket.

I don't know how it is in California, but in Ohio the DMV offices are in leased buildings. They can control photos taken inside their leased space if they wish, but the parking lot would have no such restriction and accordingly, anyone threatening me would get a go ahead and call the cops, maybe they'll arrest you for harassing me response.

Love this!
But then in post September 11, I would think twice on every obvious right I have as a USA citizen. Sigh...

A strong caveat to this statement. In many jurisdictions, courts have ruled that if the leasing agent is subject to sunshine laws (i.e. it is a government agency) then the fact that the space is leased doesn't exempt it from being public space. A government owned agency (such as a public hospital) may be able to claim such an exemption if its operations are not subject to sunshine laws.

Photography is just a hobby for me.

I took lots of pictures of the DMV, outside only, when my mom was testing. Lots on employees saw me using the camera and no one seems to care.

Suggestions welcome.
