I wonder if I do get in contact with an authorized dealer I normally buy from, if I'd still get rewards points.

Unfortunately, due to the very low price, you would not be eligible for any store rewards points on the purchase, or any of the "free accessories" offered to customers who purchase at full MAP price.

To clarify, "free accessories" means memory cards, mini-tripods, bags, etc. All of the standard Canon accessories that are normally in the retail box are still there!

We only drove the Corvette about 500 miles in the last year that we owned it. We had it for 8 years, and it was time to let it go. It was surprisingly emotional to sign the papers. I tell people that I do miss the car, but I honestly don't want it back.

This was our car:

After selling it, I was able to take photos like this:

My wife and I now spend a lot more time in our pickup truck with our dog and going places to take pictures. Selling the car was the right decision for us.

Regards, Jim

Image editing ok; C&C always welcome.

Pretty C6 but yes after seeing the second picture I'd say you made the right choice. There's not much I enjoy more than spending the day out doing photography. Won't get to as often for a while because of the baby but when I do I'm going to Really enjoy it. I've been wanting a second body for a while...sucks having to switch lenses and missing a good picture.

Didn't think so, but thanks for clarifying! Your price watch can still wind up being a bit cheaper then the free accessories/ rewards points as the advertised dealers. I've noticed with the recent adjustments in Canon prices, that a few of the accessory bundles may longer be free. Will certainly consider you and will mention you to anyone looking for new gear.

Have any of you used this resource on CPW? I put in my name and email address to get information and received an email a minute ago with this message...

"A reputable US Canon authorized dealer is willing to sell the EOS-1D X for $6,099.99. Free standard shipping is included. They do not charge tax to Maryland. They are an authorized dealer (a reputable one that we already list on our site!), this is a brand new Canon USA model with a full Canon USA warranty. This is normal retail packaging, with everything normally included."

Any reason to be nervous about this?

Canon Price Watch IS legitimate! It is one of many affiliates that link, amongst other reputable retailers, to Adorama Camera.

Another vote for that!
I ended up buying my 1Dx from greentoe.com but, you certainly won't regret using CPW.

Heya,

Not to be devil's advocate again, but, this is exactly why it may pay to consider a duo of 1D4's instead of just the one 1DX. Slap a 70-200 on one, and the 500 on the other. I'd take that over a single setup, any day honestly, for wildlife.

Just a thought.

Very best,

Very best,

She has a 7D as well. She's selling another toy she has obviously loved over the years to fund it, she said she wants to try her hand at sports shooting and maybe even have a crack at doing it for work, let her get herself a 1DX in peace.

That's pretty funny, I read that earlier and I think someone even mentioned that it would be on canon rumours before the day was out.
