I read the above, but there is no follow thru since May. Is there any replacement on the 1Dx this christmas or early next year?

If you want a new FF body every 6 months, go to Nikon ;)

Actually if the cameras keep improving it sounds like a win win situation. If Canon wanted to make a 6.01D and put all cross type af points in it and charge an extra hundred bucks it certainly wouldnt bother me

6D; canon 85mm 1.8, Tamron 24-70mm VC, Canon 135L Canon 70-200L is ii

Unless you are a beta tester.

My hope is for a 5D IV in Sept 2015. The 5D II was announced Sept 2008, and the 5D III in Feb 2012 (3.5 year cycle). No FF announcements this year unless Canon reveals the mythical 3D.

Um, the 5D3 is the digital EOS-3.

The 5D3 is the 5D3; not a 3D. ;) Come on Canon, I want my 50MP EOS 3D unicorn....now!

I just want an M3 (the car also, but this time I mean camera ) with dual pixel focus, a few new primes, built in EVF (or attachable) and a Canon made focal reducer for EF lenses... I'd be all over that.

add a 1/250 sync and it would sell even better than the current 6d ;)
add a 1/8000 shutter and it would sell even better than the 5d3 ;)

Add a couple more FPS and you've got the 5D3 ;)

What is wrong with a new camera every 6 months? Doesn't mean you existing camera will disintegrate.

No, it just means it's money taken away from R&D in other areas (like lenses). It would also make me feel like a beta tester, as someone else pointed out.

I didn't say it was a horrible thing having so many new body options, I just don't see the purpose.
