How dare you bring measured facts into the fight. ;)

lol

And if you read into the background of those measured facts you will realise that there are a LOT of other facts about the sensor that DxO Mark are not measuring. Whether the Canon would measure up better than its competition against those measurements is another question but to claim that the Canon sensor is crap based on only 3 measurements is a giant leap

Wasn't the official release supposed to be today? Did it add anything?

Here is an 'alleged video review (external link). Almost pointless but you can hear the 10fps at one point and to my ears it sounds nice (for what's that worth :D)

It doesn't matter if all the sensors are measured using the same parameters, as long as they don't change them to suit a brand or make.

No one said the Canon sensor was crap, it's just not up to the same standard as it's competitors, so it'll be interesting to see if Canon have realised this and bring out a beauty of a sensor in the 7DII, or just re-hash the 70D sensor and hope the masses are fooled - which they will be as they'll still sell like hot cakes!

Have you actually used the 70D sensor? Or are you just joining in with the crap being spouted by all the other "experts" on here who haven't used it but have decided it's no good anyway?

Canon say it is the same pixel count as the 70D sensor, but it is an new sensor (what qualify as new, I don't know, but so far I'm giving them the benefit of doubt :) )

Ooh I see it also has USB3 on it :) I didn't spot that earlier, very nice. I'm feeling a little bit of Canon love coming on <insert fangirl warning/>

I don't think many are saying that the 70D is crap, just that the difference between the 70D and 7D in raw performance is nearly identical. Therefore if the 7DII also has the 70D sensor, one can expect there to be little improvement in IQ. With all the competition offering high resolution, hi DR sensors in much cheaper bodies, Canon really needs to hit it out of the park with this biody. A 1/3 or 1/2 stop improvement is just not going to cut it any longer considering they are multiple stops behind the competition already.

What's different? Do you have a link at all?
