Just read that Samsung also released a new crop camera, the NX1. Based on the specs alone, it makes the new 7D Mark II seems outdated.

Nice improvements being center point focusing at f/8, spot metering which can be tied to the AF point, ramp focus in video mode along uncompressed hdmi out and the addition of headphone out for audio monitoring. And all this along with the 10 fps and 65 cross type af points which is much improved over the 7D. For the price that it will settle out to in a couple of months its not a bad camera for what it is at all unless all you care about is dynamic range. Just a soul with a camera

Besides, I use the DSLRController wireless setup with my 5D2 and I don't find it to be an issue, and the files are larger (marginally) than what is going to be coming out this camera. I'd love to have WiFi built into the camera and not need a secondary device for it. It's probably cheaper to get a third party Bluetooth remote than for canon to add the wifi into the 7d. $1700 price point. I use a third party Bluetooth to connect my smartphone to my 5diii. Cost me only 40 bucks. I also have an eyefi card to tether to my iPad. For wifi, even with large JPEG it's too slow to keep up with my style of shooting. 5Diii | 50D | 8-15L 4| 16-35L 2.8 II| 24-70L 2.8 II | 70-200L 2.8 IS II |Tamy 150-600 | Σ35Art 1.4 | 40 2.8 | Σ50Art 1.4 | 85L 1.2 II | 100 2.8 Macro | Helios 44-3 58mm f2.0 |Helios 40-1 85mm f1.5 | 1.4x & 2x teleconverters

I say good on Canon. Looks like they made a camera for photographers, not just a paper spec'd princess. Looks awesome.

Sep 15, 2014 08:45 | #84 Wow, never thought about all the options for the wi-fi. It is a shame they didn't throw it in.Wonder if someone will see the weakness or markets need and throw it in to the battery grip. If that is even possible. I also think the articulating screen like on the 60d would have been nice. I want to see an independent review, but I think it looks good, for what I would use it for(hobby). 5DMark4/ 24-105 F4/16-35mm F4 50mm f1.8 II/100mm f2.8L/ 70-200mm f2.8L IS II USM

You can discuss the merits or otherwise of wifi/touchscreen/flipscreen, but every other aspect it appears to be to notch. I can see the 7D2 making an excellent backup body to a 1DX for professionals, something you couldn't say about the 7D for a while. Paul
