Don't care personally, Magic Lantern will be on this really quick and judging by the specs, Will have 1080p RAW which i prefer over 8 bit h264 4k.

Really? The current ML for the 7D routinely shuts my 7D down, and I have to pull the batteries to reset it. Just what I want while I'm shooting. They have been working on the 7D ML for years, and still don't classify it as being stable (with good reason). Not that I'm complaining about their efforts, which are great, just that I see no reason to expect a stable 7DII version of ML anywhere near soon.

I honestly think canon held back 4k video capabilities for future upgrades in a later 7dmk3. Shockingly odd that such a feature filled camera would not have this newly accepted standard. Regardless I think Canon has just built an indi videographer's video machine.

See that's the dilemma of it all. While its nice to see that so many cameras are including 4K video recording these days, I certainly understand how Canon came up with the decision to not put 4K video in this camera. Aside from cannibalising their Cinema EOS cameras, for any type of indie short or film project you would need something along the lines of a computer based around a 6 core / 12 thread processor, PCIe SSDs scratch disks, and quad channel memory to fluidly edit and render projects with 4K HEVC footage shot from a high bitrate camera (i.e. not some P&S or smartphone 4K video). I'm not denying that it would have been a smart move by Canon to have included 4K video in this camera, but to be quite honest I'd bet that a lot of people complaining about the lack of 4K probably don't even have the dedicated hardware or the money to buy the hardware required to work with 4K HEVC video yet.

Brand new metering system. New AF system, new 2ND generation sensor and a whole host of other features. I tell ya, this is gonna be big if it manages to deliver.

Yup. I'll take GPS over WiFi. And yes, I know it wouldn't be difficult to have both, but that adds more complexity and weight even if I leave it turned off all the time.

I'm sorry, are we worrying about the extra gram of the chipset now?

Think new Canon lenses are overpriced? Lots (and lots) of data will set you free!

For high angle, low angle, type work either articulating screen or wifi is a huge help. Interesting that neither were given as an option here.

usb3 cord won't eat up battery life.

I can't wait for the Lensrentals 7DII AF performance evaluation using about 50 different bodies that they'll probably have.

It's probably cheaper to get a third party Bluetooth remote than for canon to add the wifi into the 7d. $1700 price point. I use a third party Bluetooth to connect my smartphone to my 5diii. Cost me only 40 bucks. I also have an eyefi card to tether to my iPad. For wifi, even with large JPEG it's too slow to keep up with my style of shooting.

the eye-fi cards are pretty crappy in comparison to the App for canon...

in my opinion the lack of an articulating screen, and wifi makes it more difficult to get the camera in those awkward spots

looks like a nice camera though, and it's cheaper than i thought it would be...i'll probably still hang on to my 70D...it's like when i bought my 40D, and the 7D came out a few months later...

Trivial question but is the LP-E6N battery the same as the LP-E6?

I'll get one if:
1) The Ai Servo AF mechanism is high in precision and accuracy
2) The ISO at least up to 6400 is awesome

Once there's enough saturation in the market to filter out the noise and established answers are available then I'll start reading reviews. I'm hoping a 70D AF accuracy debacle will not occur with this camera. I miss crop sometimes.

Silly question, but i haven’t seen anywhere that this will fully control canons multiple groups of 600 flashes? I’m sure it will, as it’s a new camera, but still haven’t seen it on paper yet.
