No... read it more carefully. What it says is that the original LP-E6 will work in the 7DII and new BG-E16 grip.... I.e., that the camera and grip are backward compatible. It doesn't say the new LP-E6N batteries are backwardly compatible and will work in the older cameras and grips (but one would hope they are ) that used the LP-E6.

The Park Cameras video review says the LP-E6N will work in older cameras.

I'm guessing the lack of articulating screen is due to weather sealing/robustness.

You're right amfoto. I think I misinterpreted it. Old and new batteries are interchangeable, but the grips aren't. Makes more sense. I was trying to figure what Canon was thinking allowing the use of an old grip on a new camera.

That's great news.
I can phase out my tired "legacy" batteries and replace them with these bad boys.

Think new Canon lenses are overpriced? Lots (and lots) of data will set you free!

so far rather lackluster.... will wait for sensor "review" before giving out final judgement.

no 4k
ok burst rate, while others have 11, 12, 15fps, sony had 12 in 2011....
ok mp, nikon and sony pushing out 24mp, samsung got 28... while MP is not the most important thing, sony manages to have higher MP, better dr and better color while also having low noise....

come on dxo post some info!!!

No 4K, because its in their megabucks Cinema EOS. They're not going to undercut that market. Sony has 12fps without a mirror. 10fps is more than sufficient and a very good feature on a APS-c D/SLR.

Thanks buddy. Don't know how I missed that. Why they gotta make us wait 2 months!! Lol.

Looks good to me, this might just replace my 40D which I then most likely will have converted to IR. I don't need wifi or gps, for wifi I use the camranger which also work on my other bodies, and it's not something I use very often. My eyefy card was used exactly once, when I put it in the first time. I don't think enough people use remote controlled shooting for Canon to even consider putting that in.

The AF and crop factor will be great for things I shoot at my kid's school and for wildlife.

I've been holding off replacing my 40D for a long time now and mostly use my 5D3, but crop has it's place and I always wanted to play with an IR converted camera :-)

I'm in no rush, no need to preorder it, but if tests come in promising, that's what I'll do :-)

Don't care about video at all, only video I ever take is of the kids and I use my phone for that. I won't have a 4k TV for a long time and editing video is too time consuming for my taste anyway.

40D, 5D3, a bunch of lenses and other things

I was hoping they would eliminate the optical low pass filter for higher detail/sharpness :(

Bullcrap.
As if the existence of wifi would ruin your shots.
Don't like it? Turn it off.

I am happy not to pay for a feature I won't use.

No, those soft images are because of operator error :)
