^^^^^
Nice and sharp photos. #4 is my pick out of this series. Love seeing the player's eyes focusing on their opponent. Great image quality.

I'll add a couple. These are all from 6-man football. It really is a crazy sport! About two minutes into the game the lights from the 40 yard line (smaller field) to the end zone went out along with the scoreboard. They never did get them back on. They would have the team with the ball go towards the dark end of the field and then when they got too far down field they would flip the teams and have them go into the end zone with the lights still working. It was a little frustrating but oh well.

7D2 is out
could put a hurt on sports shooters
not enough of an upgrade for me
but I think the target group is mom and dad and little league
only advantage I have now is access and my 70-200 2.8
I have seen people in the stand with better equipment than mine
and even schools are getting into it
had a kid the other night from the opposing school on the sideline with a 1dx and a 120-300 2.8
he had no clue how to use it

I can see the day when I can no longer compete maybe
Ive shot 10 games this year 100 bucks in sales and 1 sale was a body building show
in the past year Ive made 500 bucks
which comes out to .06 a pic Ive taken

one man operation here tough to compete with newspapers, mags, parents and schools

Vent over move along nothing to see here

Pat,
why don't you see if the local paper would buy some. I'm sure they don't have enough people to cover every game, at least that is the case here in Memphis.

I had two games to cover Friday night that were 30 mins apart. Photographed the first game for a little over a period. Got to the second one right a half time. I was sweating that I wouldn't be able to get enough shots for both.

Thanks Pat. It is one 580ex II with a battery pack. Mounted about 18in below the lens. I shot HSS at about -1/3 to -2/3.

18in roughly for the flash. I have a super clamp on the monopod with an umbrella adaptor connected to the flash.

Andy Hannum: Nice stuff. #2 is my fav. And #4 looks like it hurt. :)

Conradebner: Good captures of peak action. I like #2 and #3. Always good when bodies are flying through the air. :) Not sure what you are shooting with, but a couple could be cropped tighter I think. #1 I would try to crop out the ref. #5 and #6 definitely crop tighter to the action.

Theron: Nicely done for flash. Really like #1 and #5. Are you finding it better to flash instead of using the high ISO of the 5DIII? I would think the 5d files should clean up nicely in lightroom right up to 20000 iso.

burnet44: Tough to be doing this to try and make money nowadays. The money in sport now seems to be in the T&I's instead of action shots. Do you do any T&I stuff?

Oh, and just a point for everybody, could we number the pics when you post em. Just makes it easier for commenting.

Brent,
Thanks for the comments. #1 is with flash and #5 isn't. I shoot around iso8000 - 10,000 now. The flash does add a little pop in the dark areas of the field, plus it is a requirement for MaxPreps.

Pat,
You don't need a school to do T&I. I make a good bit each year doing rec. leagues teams. Most of the time they have no contracts with anyone. Hands some business cards and/or flyers out. You might be surprised.
