4K on the 7DII would kill 1DC sales, so I doubt canon will start implementing them in their DSLRs until the 1DC becomes irrelevant (which is happening very quickly)

I seriously doubt it. They need to worry less about the 1DC, and more about the GH4. Other manufacturers are not sitting idly by to protect Canon's 1DC sales.

And if resolution (video or stills) was the distinguishing quality characteristic between camera models, then the 7D II is going to destroy 1DX sales.

I've been waiting for a long time for Canon to release the official specs on the 7D Mark II. Rumors are one thing, but actual features are another. I've been wanting to upgrade from the 7D to a full-frame. Not sure if I should upgrade to the 6D or to the 7DII.

Full frame has benefits. But crop has some conveniences and price advantages. What were you wanting to upgrade to full frame for?

Thats exactly what I was thinking. This is the first time you have a FF and a crop that share damn near identical bodies with exact button layout.

Same here! I love the fact that the layout is the same. When moving fast, one can't afford to have different button locations, etc.

You've highlighted a great point!

No pattern noise when boosting shadows at ISO 100 is what I needed to upgrade.

Have you tested the new sensor yet? (Which BTW, is a different sensor that what's found in the 70D.)

I think this camera is geared for sales
7d may have been the best selling canon ever

1. better focus to me means mom and dad can hit a moving object now
2. better low light to me means they can shoot little league at night better

for me this isnt an upgrade worth getting one over my 70d

besides you better have the glass

mom and dad probably have a 70-300 4-5.6 lens
this new 7d2 should help them

no me I dont feel until I can get a pro body I prob wont upgrade

I think this camera is geared for massive sales to families who wanna take sports pics of their kids
there are tons of little leagues out there year round

this and a dollar will buy u a coke

I don't think the sensor itself is going to be that different. The microlenses are claimed to be different, but that's all I've seen. It's the same kind of claim they would make every time they trotted out the old 18mp sensor in a new body.

Full frame crop. All subjective. My wife does my culling and she asks why the images from the 7D look better than the 5D MKII.

Oh no! Mom and Dad are now able to capture little Johnny playing tee ball at 10 FPS. I just can't wait to see all 30,000 shots of little Johnny rounding the bases on Flickr. Maybe this isn't such a great day after all. ;)

Seriously, wow what an awesome price point for the 7D II! I was expecting in excess of $2K. It is going to be harder to resist that pre-order button than I thought it would.

Exactly what I'm thinking right now. :D
