. Her birthday is next month, maybe I will pre order it for her...

My pre-order is in too, hope its a good match with the Tammy 150-600.

Can anyone tell me if this body will AF at f/5.6 or at f/8. I cant seem to find that spec.

If you have a 7D and plan on selling it....you better be with it......with them already selling for $650-$700...this will shoot them under $500.00 by the end of the year.

Only if the 7DII delivers in the IQ front. It could also go the way of the 5DII. When the 5DIII came out the price for the 5DII plummeted. After a few weeks when real world reviews came out and people realized that though the cameras are very different, in the IQ arena, they are almost the same and the price came back up.

I'm suspecting, though hoping wrong, that the 7DII will be similar. Lots of nice features but in the end, same IQ especially for raw shooters. Just gotta wait for some real world examples I suppose.

According to imaging resources review, it does f/8 focus on center point.

I pre-ordered. I just wish it would be here before November. This moves my 7D to backup and my 30D to IR ...

I don't think there's been an ultimatum on this aspect yet as raw files and processed raw images from this camera haven't really quite surfaced yet for public scrutiny.. I'd be interested in know about this also with regards to the 7d2, though I've never had the apparent 7d pattern noise ruin a photo yet.

Only time will tell. That said, I don't recall having issues with my 7D at low ISO, and only seeing some of it if I started pushing shadows beyond what they should be pushed. Expose better in the field and you'll have less problems.

Remember, 7D (and 7D2 now) were never designed with landscape photography as primary focus. The camera specs (8/10 fps, 19/65 AF points, 100+/1000+ jpg buffer, etc...) were all geared more towards action. Pick the right tool for the job to save yourself some headache in post.

Would I be happy if 7D2 suddenly has Sony-like dynamic range performance? Of course. But it's not what I'm looking for.

Given Canon's track record for the past 5 years, I wouldn't bet money on a super-duper-DR-improved sensor. You're just asking to be disappointed.
