I'm a dad but mom is not allowed to touch my camera stuff....

so what category does that fall into?

Dad NOT mom.

Think new Canon lenses are overpriced? Lots (and lots) of data will set you free!

For those having been to Photokina will confirm that the exhibit space has very low light and using a brand new camera with a complex AF system for the 1st time would stump even seasoned pros.

I imagine even if he just used the -3EV center focus point and recomposed, focus would still suffer from model moving, photog moving etc...

So he should've taken 10 FPS and selected the best! Maybe at the same time, tell us how many were in focus.

i see this thing producing clean 6400 and usable 12,800 which is good. Teamspeed could make this thing produce 10 million ISO and turn out better than ISO 100.

It is more than a change in microlens design per canon marketing material, for what that is worth.

Where does it say that? I'm searching for some info in the sensor and can't find anything anywhere.

Hey, I was only joking about Matt. He's a great photographer. He shot at f2.8 up close, so there is actually focus on the face....somewhere. One has left eye, another on tip of nose....etc The main issue for me is high ISO and noise. The pegs look darn good and being noiseless and clean. Look at the eyelashes. They do have detail for ISO 51200.

I think your skipping a huge category, enthusiasts. There are a lot of photographers out there with 40/50/60/7/70Ds who have been longing for an upgrade.

Not sure why, but call me JJ.

Did they with the 7d? Yes... The 7d 5 years ago was a game changer then and was marketed to the same folks. You just wasn't here to see that, as you joined 3 years later.

And I put more weight on these jpegs than the ones canon released. Canon likely went pixel by pixel adjusting their jpegs. Not having any skin in the game Matt's are likely to be SOOC (still not RAWs but one step closer than manufacture created marketing).

I come here for your expert opinion. Please do not hesitate to critique or edit.

This will sell to all of those groups. The price is right and the specs look good.

It's not the camera that reasserts Canon's dominance in the camera market, but it's going to make a lot of users happy.
