Is it normal to adjust for focus. I found +12 on my 5D3 is in focus. but at close distances with a tape measure it seems to be in focus too at +-0!

smythie I wasn't even trying More info | You need the Dock in that case. It allows micro focus adjustment for various focal lengths (4 I think). And yes, it's not abnormal for any lens be it Sigma, Nikon, Canon or any other AF lens for that matter to vary within the manufacturer's tolerance. Sigma's tolerances aren't any greater than Canon's, nor is their sample variation any worse.

I didn't? I had that lens long time ago but it was too expensive to keep in my financial situation. 2x Canon 6D, Sigma 35mm f/1.4, Sigma 50mm f/1.4 ART, EF 85mm f/1.8, EF 135 F/2.0

I'm going to edit and post some photos from the weekend once I get home from work. Razor sharp at f/1.4 and the perfect focal length to get some interesting narratives shot! Sep 16, 2014 23:44 | #398 I found a page at lensrentals about this lens nad this is what the moderator said on his last few sentences. It front focuses below 5 feet and back focuses beyond 20 feet. According to him, it is the lens characteristics and it is not a calibration problem. Users, is this true?

smythie I wasn't even trying More info | That's the old DG, not the new Art version. The new Art version can be calibrated for 4 focussing distances using the Sigma Dock
