Hello has anyone updated your Canon Pro-1 printer firmware to the new version 1.2? and if so any noticeable improvement and does ver 1.2 let you uses non canon ink?

As a matter of principle, I would never use aftermaket consumables on flagship gear.

That is not so, I have used compatible ink cartridges for over and year now with this pro-1, and I can't seen NO difference none, but I can see a big difference in my wallet, if you do a lot of printing this printer it drinks a lot of ink...

Joking, N2bnfunn...

I use aftermarket ink too and see no difference. But mine is a consumer HP Photosmart with OEM ink twice as expensive as Canon's (5.5ml cartridges!).

That being said, when I buy the Pro-100, I'll probably stay with original cartridges, as I won't use up so much ink to master my inkjet printing as I did initially. Now I don't print that much anymore.
